A Kashiwa Concept Cafe in Chiba Worth Visiting: Moe Quest Report

Hello, I'm 'M,' who made my debut as a concept-cafe writer.

This time, going a bit away from the big city, I dropped by 'Moe Quest' in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture. Well, to tell the truth, I'd dealt with concept cafes through work before, but going as a customer was my first time, and I was very nervous. Is it different from a hostess club? Will I get ripped off? and so on.

To state the conclusion first, those worries were pretty much unfounded. When I declared in advance that this was about my limit for today, they tailored their service to that, and I got a very kind impression.

Moe Quest, as you can tell from the name, is a concept cafe with an RPG inn as its concept, and the pricing plan is calculated in G (gold). By the way, 1 G = 1 yen, so there's nothing to puzzle over.

That day, since it was a scorching day with the temperature exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, I got one free beer (written like an item on the menu). There's a 3,000-yen-per-hour all-you-can-drink course (girls serve while standing) and a 4,000-yen-per-hour all-you-can-drink course (one girl is assigned exclusively to you), and I thought making the girls stand while serving would be rude, so I naturally went with the 4,000-yen course. Various fees got added on top of that, making it 4,900 yen per hour. By the way, my budget was 5,000 yen, which I'd told them in advance, so it felt like they fit it exactly. Furthermore, there's a service where new customers who rate the shop in the Google Maps shop comments get a 500-yen discount.

The all-you-can-drink options are shochu, whiskey, or soft drinks, and the girls pour them for you. The gesture of "I'm not used to pouring yet, so it might be a bit strong~" was cute too, and M was delighted.

I wanted to take a cheki together too, but unfortunately it was over budget. Cheki can apparently be ordered from 1,500 G.

Anyway, the girls were cute and the chatting was fun, and time passed in a flash. Kashiwa's concept cafes seem to basically all be shops that open at night, and they don't seem to do lunch. The hours are apparently 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday, and 6:00 p.m. to LAST (5:00 a.m.) on Friday and Saturday. I wish they'd do lunch too...

That concludes M's concept-cafe report, the 'Moe Quest' edition!
